A Revamp Is On The Horizon. New, Improved, Faster and more Secure.
gnuSite is an Open Source GPL Licensed Content Management System (CMS) to allow your client's to have control over the content of their web site, so you don't have to spend time editing pages for them. This in turns allows you to pass on the saving to your client's.
gnuSite is and always will be free of charge. Do not trust sources that ask for money for gnuSite, and you can help us by reporting such sources.
gnuSite has been built in such a way, that for our purposes (and yours), that you need only build the layout, and make sure to call back to the correct files to integrate the layout into the system.
Features include:
- Inline editing using CKEditor/CKFinder, so editing text content is like using Open Office or MS Word.
- Meta Tag editing for each page, via a drop down when an administrator is logged in.
- Shopping Cart/Catalog for selling products and tracking Quotes, Orders, Consignments, and Invoiced orders. The shopping cart also includes a Rewards system, Consignment ordering (once you set users to do so). Pricing for different situations, incl. Offset pricing by added value or percentage between 5 different ranges.
- Services, that integrates into the Shopping Cart and Bookings systems.
- Progress, so customers can track the progress of their orders.
- Bookings, so bookings can be made online.
- Gallery,
- News,
- Blog,
- Testimonials,
- Portfolio ** new**
- Project Honey Pot httpBL is implemented to help stop spam bots, and email harvesters.
- and more.....
gnuSite does not have a theme engine as such, but rather a theme layout area that is separate from the main system, and allows for any type of layout style. We will be putting together some more themes, as examples or for use on personal or commercial sites.
If you build a theme, please share it back, so others can benefit.
The current version is v10.6.10a, and is currently in Alpha testing phase. As we sort out the bugs, and make minor usage and code improvements.
We do NOT recommend using this version for production sites. At this stage we are releasing it to the public mainly to gain input from other web site developer's, and to point out bugs that we might miss.
